Dead by Daylight Best Nurse Build (June 2022)
Unlike the main trio of The Trapper, The Wraith, and The Hillbilly, The Nurse was the very first new Killer added to Dead by Daylight. She was also the first female Killer added to the asymmetrical horror game. The Nurse has gone through many changes throughout the years, but one thing remains pretty consistent: in the right hands, she’s the strongest Killer in the game, with high mobility and the ability to absolutely cut through and destroy loops that Survivors rely on.
To understand The Nurse and how best to use her effectively, you’ll first have to understand her power, add-ons, and perks.

Dead By Daylight The Nurse Perks
The Nurse has three unique perks that can be unlocked for other Killers via the Bloodweb.
- Stridor - Survivor’s breathing is 0/0/25% louder, alongside their grunts of pain which are 25/50/50% louder.
- Thanatophobia - For each Survivor that is Injured, Hooked or Dying, a stackable 4/4.5/5% penalty occurs on all Survivor’s Repairing, Sabotaging and Cleansing speeds up to a maximum of 16/18/20%.
- Nurse’s Calling - You are able to see the Aura of a Survivor healing or being healed when you are within a range of 20/24/28 metres.
What Is The Best Build & Perks For The Nurse
We would go with the following perks for the Best possible Nurse Build:
BBQ & Chili (The Cannibal Perk)
- A deep bond with The Entity unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability. After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook. Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a stack-able 25 % bonus to all Bloodpoint gains, up to a maximum of several percent.
Tinkerer (The Hillbilly Perk)
- Whenever a Generator is repaired to 70 %, it triggers a Loud Noise notification and you are granted the Undetectable Status Effect for the next several seconds.
Blood Echo (The Oni Perk)
- The agony of one is inflicted onto others. When hooking a Survivor, all other injured Survivors suffer from the Haemorrhage Status Effect until healed and the Exhausted Status Effect for 45 seconds.
Hex Ruin (The Hag Perk)
- A Hex that affects all Survivor's Generator Repair progress. All Generators automatically regress at percentage of the normal Regression speed whenever they are not being repaired. The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
Dead By Daylight The Nurse Powers
The Nurse’s power is called Spencer’s Last Breath.
Spencer’s Last Breath allows The Nurse to Blink - a power that warps her forward 20 meters, regardless if there are objects in front of her - towards her prey. She can Blink both upwards and downwards, making her a versatile Killer that can reach Survivors no matter where they are hiding.
A Nurse with no add-ons can Blink up to 2 times, which will initiate a Chain Blink. To do so, a player must Blink once, and then prepare to Blink again to keep the chain going, otherwise they’ll enter a Fatigue state immediately after the first Blink instead of the second.
The Fatigue state occurs each time your Power is used, but the seconds it lasts depends on how many Blinks you use. For example, Fatigue after 1 Blink is 2 seconds, 2.5 for 2 Blinks and 3 seconds for 3 Blinks. Another second is added on to your Fatigue if The Nurse initiated an Attack or an Attack Lunge after the Blink.
Blinks take 2 seconds to fully charge, and a full recharge of the Blinks after using them all takes 3 seconds. And just in case you’re wondering, you cannot Blink while carrying Survivors to the Hooks.
The Nurse is a complex Killer, which is why if you’re going to be playing as her you’ll need plenty of practice.
Best Add-Ons For The Nurse In Dead By Daylight
The Nurse is a rare Killer that has a lot of add-ons that, in my opinion, mostly change her base kit rather than add to what she already has. That said, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some pretty amazing add-ons out there to really shake the game up. Here are a few.
Kavanagh's Last Breath - This is the best add-on for increasing The Nurse’s Blink range. It comes at the cost of increasing the Blink charge time by a lot, but on smaller maps like The Game or Dead Dawg Saloon? You can traverse half the map with almost no trouble at all. It’s excellent for getting the drop on unsuspecting Survivors and damaging Generators without having to worry about the cost of dropping a Chase.
Heavy Panting - Much like Kavanagh’s Last Breath, Heavy Panting adds to The Nurse’s Blink Range at the cost of an increased Blink charge time. It’s a little less Rare, but perfect for Nurse players who either haven’t got Kavanagh’s add-on just yet or...if you want to be particularly evil… You can combine the two Add-Ons and strike terror into the heart of the Survivors as you cross the map in almost no time at all.
Plaid Flannel - Another Brown Add-On that isn’t all that bad. The use of it is simple: it lets Nurse players know where they’ll end up after a Blink by putting a white Target on your screen. It’s helpful for new Nurse players, though try not to be too dependent on it.
Ataxic Respiration - Considerably decreases the Fatigue you get after a Blink. Useful for intense Chases that require you to be on the Survivor at all times to get a hit.
Dead By Daylight The Nurse Tips and Tricks
- The Nurse is slower than a Survivor with a Movement Speed of 3.85m/s, so unless you have the Matchbox or Spasmodic Breath add-on I don’t recommend just blindly chasing Survivors without using your Blinks.
- Like The Wraith, The Nurse can be Lightburned - meaning that when Survivors use their Flashlight on you, you’ll be stunned. It can take a few seconds for Lightburn to work against you, so use that to your advantage and hit the Survivors where it hurts.
- The Nurse is all about prediction. If a Survivor is running towards a Pallet, charge your Blink enough that you’ll go through the Pallet to the other side so that if they drop it, you’re already there to hit the Survivor.
- Nurse’s Calling is a great Perk for Nurse because you’ll be able to see Survivor’s Auras and get to them faster than any other Killer due to your Blinks.
- More experienced Survivors will sometimes run towards you when they see you charging your Blink. Catch them off-guard by instead going for a small Blink that puts you in hitting distance.
- As painful as this may sound, you should give The Nurse a go without add-ons first so you can get a feel of her Blink range for yourself. Then place add-ons for your Blink when you’re more comfortable.
